What to expect
Rio Favela Tour will cordinate a taxi to pick you up at your hotel and bring you to the top of Rocinha favela where you'll meet your tour guide Alex. You'll go to some of the local's homes so you can get the best views.
Hour and a half walk
on your 1 1/2-3 hour decent through the favela you'll stop at local shops and possibly meet some local artists. Alex is born and raised there and knows the people very well. You'll get to meet the locals and get the best feel of brazillian culture.
Life is an adventure
The pathways through the favelas are unforgettable and most likely something most people will never experience.
Bottom line
Once you reach the bottom there are shops and sometimes fairs where you can buy all sorts of different things if you'd like.
